S. of A., and to a lesser extent, as one of singer Ron Keel's first outfits. However, Malmsteen was only briefly a member of the group, while Keel was present from the beginning (1981) to the end (1984), as evidenced by selections on the 2006 compilation American Metal: The Steeler Anthology. The group only managed to issue a lone full-length studio effort during its brief tenure together, 1983's Steeler (which did feature Malmsteen), but Keel had a fair amount of demos and live tracks laying around, which comprise this 16-track compilation.
